Our automatic newsletters pull in news items from the website automatically. It pulls in the latest Featured Story (the latest item from the Featured Story category) and also news items from the general news feed category.
In the newsletter it then shows the title, the image and the Excerpt text.
If there is no Excerpt the text in the newsletter is cut off in the middle of a sentence and shows 3 dots […]. That doesn’t look good. See the image below.
You can find the Excerpt box when you edit a post in the middle of the screen, just paste in the line of text.
Please note that the Excerpt is also used when someone looks at the News category overview. Here you see the Excerpts as the small texts next to the image for example. https://stainless-steel-world.net/category/news/
If you don’t see the Excerpt box in Editting mode, view your settings in the top right corner of the page named ‘Screen Options’ and make sure to select Excerpt. When this setting is enabled the Excerpt box will be shown in Editting mode. (click image to enlarge)
